An Automatic Assembly System is fully automated, where by the operators are
used to fill the part hoppers on the machine, and the full assembly of the
component is carried out automatically, assembled by the system. These automatic
assembly systems can be:
- Synchronous conveyor assembly systems / transfer assembly line
- Rotary table assembly systems
- Pallet assembly systems / asynchronous pallet assembly
Rotary Table Assembly System Syncronous Conveyor Assembly System
Semi-Automatic Assembly Systems utilize the concept of manual intervention or
part loading. In a semi automatic assembly system the operator may place
the specific components onto fixtures for proper positioning, and the components
are taken automatically from the holders and assembled automatically. A
semi-automatic assembly system is usually a rotary table design, but can be
nearly any type of automation.
Manual Assembly Benches are used mainly for the purpose of consistency to
assembly and operator ease. Special fixtures are uses to hold and / or
rotate the components as required. Any tooling or torquing devices are
affixed to the bench for easy access and operation, and are programmed or
adjusted to affect their operation (such as tightening) to a pre-defined and
controlled parameter.
